Recoñezo, xa así de principio, que non son moi eu de pedir nuggets en ningún sitio porque, normalmente, sábenme moito a fritido e pouco a polo, e ademais, porque non entendo moi ben iso de picar a carne de polo e engadirlle outras cousas para xuntala de novo e formar os nuggets. Mais un día, despois de ver algún que outro anuncio na tele, pensei: e se probo a facelos eu na casa, sen demasiadas complicacións? Iso si, quería darlle un toque especial, orixinal e que lle dera un sabor diferente ao dun simple polo empanado. Imos aló!

Ingredientes:

– 2 fermosas peitugas de polo
– 2 culleradas prebe Worcestershire (tamén chamado prebe Perrins)
– auga
– 1 ovo (que só empregaremos a clara)
– panko (ou pan relado máis groso, estilo caseiro)

Preparación paso a paso:

1. Para comezar, cortamos a peituga en anacos máis ben gordiños.

2. Nun bol, botamos as 2 culleradas de prebe Perrins e o polo e cubrimos o resto con auga ata que o polo quede ben cuberto, como se ve na imaxe. Tapamos o bol e deixámolo na neveira durante uns 45 minutos.

3. Despois empanamos o polo con fariña, a clara de ovo batida e o panko.

4. Fritimos en abundante aceite ben quentiño ata que estean ben dourados. E listo!

Como vedes, o polo queda moi ciumento por dentro e ben crocante por fora. Para acompañar, nada mellor que unhas pataquiñas fritidas (estas eran ao forno) e un prebe tan saboroso coma este, que fixen mesturando prebe de tomate, Worcestershire and un picante (para as patacas bravas). E así de sinxelo é facer uns nuggets, sen complicarse picando a carne nin disfrazando o seu sabor con outros ingredientes. O polo, por suposto, pódese mariñar con outros ingredientes e así darlle aos nuggets o sabor que máis vos guste. Bo proveito!!!

I must admit, just before I keep on writing, that I do not usually order nuggets at any place, it’s not that I don’t like them -in fact I do- but that I do not like the way they taste. They sometimes taste too much oily and you cannot find the chicken flavour anywhere. Besides, I don’t quite understand those recipes in which they mince the chicken breasts to mix it with bread or breadcrumbs and then put it together again and form the nuggets :S But one afternoon, and after watching 2 or 3 adds which advertised nuggets, I decided to make my own homemade version…and I’m so happy with the result! 😀 Wait and see! These nuggets are incredibly tasty and healthy! Let’s go!

Ingredients:

– 2 chicken breasts
– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– water
– 1 egg white (or more if you need it)
– panko (or thick breadcrumbs)

Step by step preparation:

1. To begin with, chop chicken breasts.

2. In a bowl, add two tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, add chopped chicken and then add water just to get all chicken covered. Keep it in the fridge for arounf 45 minutes.

3. Then, drain and coat each chicken nugget in flour, lightly beaten egg white and panko.

4. Deep fry in plenty of hot olive oil until golden brown and bright. And that’s it!

As you can see, chicken is so juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside! Side these nuggets with fried or baked potatoes (these ones were baked) and some favourite sauce of yours. Mine was a mixture of marinara, hot and Wrcestershire sauce. And preparing some homemade and healthy nuggets is as simple as that, no complications, no extra ingredients not needed and they are super delicious and flavourful! If you prefer any other sauce to marinate, just do it! They’ll be as incredibly tasty as these ones!
