Quesillo canario

Quesillo canario

quesillo canario

Ingredientes:

– 4 ovos ben xeitosos
– 1 bote de leite condensado
– 1 medida do bote de leite condensado, de leite enteiro
– 1 medida de crema
– caramelo caseiro

Preparación paso a paso:

1. Facemos o caramelo e botámolo no molde. Agardamos a que cristalice.

Quesillo canario (creme caramel with condensed milk)

quesillo canario

When I was told about this recipe, I didn’t know a thing about the ingredients, and I even thought there was something about cheese on it, and there isn’t! The name (quesillo=little cheese) has nothing to do with cheese, and it comes from the similarity in texture with cottage cheese. The flavour is amazing, sweet, smooth and very special. Easy-to-find ingredients and the easiest preparation EVER. Let’s go!

Ingredients:

– 4 quite big eggs
– 1 can of condensed milk
– 1 can (of condensed milk) of milk
– 1 Can of whipping cream
– homemade caramel

Step by step preparation:

1. Prepare caramel sauce and pour it over the mould.

2. Whip egg whites but not until they form stiff peaks, just until you see some bubbles on top, as in the picture.

3. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat really well.

4. Pour the batter over the caramel sauce, put the mould on top of another with water and bake at 200°C/400ºF for 60-90 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. And that’s it!

IMPORTANT KUKINOTE! Pleas, dear reader, don’t do like me, wait until completely cold before taking the quesillo out of the mould. I would even recommend you to keep it in the fridge for a few hours. I just couldn’t wait any longer and I did when it was still warm, and it was a bit of a disaster 😉

This dessert has no difficulty at all and it’s absolutely delicious!!! Condensed milk gives it a smooth and soft texture and a better flavour! Enjoy!!!
