Fish & Chips

Preparación paso a paso:

Coa Red Vintage queda moi ben! Eu penso repetir 😉 Bo proveito!!!

Fish & Chips

And here we are again with a new recipe after all those Halloween special dishes. Fish & Chips is a dish we quickly associate with British cuisine and that we see in almost every single pub around London. The first time I tried it was in Scotland in a food truck which sold burgers as well. Super delicious! And the second time it was in a pub in London. When you try it, the first thing you wonder is which is that secret ingredient or little trick which makes this coating so crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. Well, now I know, and you’ll know as well 😉 However, this Fish and Chips has a special Galician touch which gives it character and flavour! Let’s go!

Fish & Chips

Ingredients for 2:

– 330 ml beer (I used 1906 Red Vintage)
– 300 gr flour
– 1 egg yolk
– 1 tbsp sunflower oil
– 1 tsp salt
– 2 or 3 cod fillets
– potatoes cut into strips to fry

Step by step preparation:

1. Cut fillets into servin-size pieces trying to take all fish bones out, as well as the skin. Add salt and pepper.

Fish & Chips

2. Mix all ingredientes (except potatoes) and beat it for a couple of minutes until the batter is smooth.

Fish & Chips

3. Allow to settle for 30 minutes and then, dip cod into the batter and fry in plenty of hot oil. Meanwhile, fry potatoes until golden and crispy. And that’s it!

Fish & Chips

Fish and Chips is a super delicious dish!!! And if you want to dip fish or chips into a sauce, I would definitely recommend honey and mustard sauce, you can do it homemade mixing both ingredients until you find your desired flavour. Take into account oil must be hot enough to fry the fish, but not too much so cod ends up being undercooked. Cod will be super soft and juicy. I love it! If you are a Fish and Chips fan, wait no more and give it a try at home, you will repeat and repeat! And it’s so simple! You can even try with different beers and give it different flavours 😉 ENJOY!!!
