Favourite Biscuit Recipes
Nunha das miñas excursións por Escocia, recordo que unha amiga e máis eu decidimos mercar como recordo un libriño pequecho de receitas. Teño que admitir que nin recordo onde o merquei, pero sí recordo que cada unha de nós colleu un libriño dunha especialidade diferente. Este que escollín eu era de receitas de biscuits (que xa vai sendo hora de explicar algunha receita de cookies cando o blogue se chama kukinhas, non?) Pero antes de nada quería ensinarvos o libro.
Como xa vos dixen, non é tanto un libro, senón un conxunto de receitas de galletas, con ilustracións de paisaxes en cor sepia,

e pequenas introduccións sobre a receita ao comezo de cada unha delas:
Os ingredientes que atopamos son sinxelos, deses que podes ter na casa nun día calquera, polo que resulta moi difícil resistir a tentación de probar algunha destas delicias.
As receitas, a pesares de ser todas de biscuits, e de levar ingredientes semellantes, son sorprendentemente variadas.
Na primeira páxina do libro, atopamos o índice, e na última, unha tabliña de conversións métricas.
En definitiva, un libro pequeno, perfecto para ter na cociña, con ingredientes doados de atopar, e receitas de elaboración sinxela. Totalmente recomendado!
Dentro de pouco haberá que facer unhas kukiñas, non? 😉

Favourite Biscuits Recipes
Along one of my several trips around Scotland, a friend of mine and me decided to buy a recipe booklet as a souvenir. I must confess I do not remember the place where I bought, but what I do remember is that each of us took one different book. Mine was the biscuits one. (Considering the name of the blog, it was time to include a cookies recipe, right?) But first, let’s have a look at the book!
This booklet is small, with around 30 recipes, illustrated with watercolor sketches,

and including a brief comment about each recipe:
The ingredients are quite usual, perfect for a time in which you feel like cooking, and don’t want to spend time coming and going to find a special ingredient for a recipe.
The recipes, despite being all about biscuits, they all have a twist that make each one different.
On the first page, we have an index, and in the last page, a chart with the metric conversions.
In short, a little booklet, perfect to have it in the kitchen, with easy to find ingredients and easy to prepare recipes. Highly recommended!
Now we have the book, time for a ‘kukinhas’ recipe!
